I have been lucky enough to visit Luxembourg many times as it is very close to my family. This post is a little accumulation of the spots my Mam and I visit when we go to the city. If you do get the opportunity to pay a visit to Luxembourg in the lead-up to Christmas you are in for a real festive treat. The Luxembourg Christmas markets are out of this world and like something straight out of a movie, so if you do get a chance to visit make sure you allocate time to see them all as they are scattered about the city.
Where to stay?
My Mam and I stayed at the Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal, and if you have ever stayed in a Sofitel hotel before you will know what I mean when I say they just can't do wrong. I am yet to stay in one that does. A fantastic location, luxurious rooms, an incredible rooftop bar with breathtaking views of the city and THE BEST breakfast!
Where to eat and drink?
- We grabbed brunch at Gruppetto Cafe Cyciste and I must say we were really impressed with the food. A casual spot which also has a really unique cycling decor and shop included.
- The best sushi at Kobe Sushi, this is a must if you are looking for an amazing dinner spot.
- Drinks and a great atmosphere at Amore Luxembourg. This award-winning bar is the place to be and we could see why from the moment we arrived.
- A warm festive mulled wine at Café de Paris.
- Fish lovers need to pay Brasserie Guillaume a visit, a local spot with incredibly fresh fish.
- URBAN has the same owners as Amore Luxembourg and again is the place to be for a night out. We got a really nice seat upstairs in their cocktail bar...loved it!
- A cocktail with a view at Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal.
- A delicious lunch at Bazar was the perfect way to wrap up a very successful trip to Luxembourg. Fabulous menu, really friendly staff and gorgeous decor.
